Dove is very blunt and often doesn't seem to have much of a filter on the things he says. In spite of this he's very friendly and sometimes lacks understanding of boundaries, causing him to pursue people relentlessly until they either flat out tell him to go away or become friends with him. He's very moody and even emotionally unstable, but he means well and cares a lot about making other people happy and being a good friend. He struggles with empathy and often can't relate to others emotionally, but does his best and is always willing to listen to someone and try to provide advice. Often he functions with himself at the center of his mind, and struggles to conceptualize the world in a way that doesn't put him first.
Biography:
Having grown up in a neglectful home, Dove was often considered the problem child growing up. He would act out continually for attention, was bossy and controlling of other children, and demanded his way at all times. Others considered him more of a pain than anything else, not realizing that at home he received no love or affection and always had to find for himself.
As a teenager Dove's parents didn't care where he went or what he did, so he often spent time out of the house getting into fights, stealing, and buying drugs - anything he could do to get attention and feel wanted in some way. However, when he was 15 he was finally removed from their care on charges of neglect, and placed into foster care.
Dove's new foster family was incredibly kind to him, and also very patient with his violent and confused reactions to being shown love. He was put into therapy for the first time, where he finally started being able to work through his emotions and learn ways to cope with his symptoms. Slowly, he was recovering and becoming better.
Dove was almost terrified to go to college due to the idea of being on his own again. However, his family reassured him that it wasn't far and they'd be close by. College was a struggle due to his unfamiliarity with making healthy friendships, but he pushed forward and worked hard at his classes. It was here that he would meet Yumeko, and everything would change.
